Famous Indian Americans who are Jailed
Bangalore: Many of the Indian Americans have made our country proud by conquering heights across diverse fields in the U.S. and globally. But, on the contrary there are few others who have let down the nation by getting involved in illegal practices and cling onto anti-social activities for some extra bucks. Let us take a look at some well-renowned Indian Americans who are jailed in the U.S.-
Rajat Gupta
Rajat Gupta is an Indian American businessman, who conquered corporate heights in U.S, but spoiled years of hard work for some additional bucks. He is charged for insider-trading case at Dell which was a big story recently. He is the former director of Goldman Sachs Group, investment banking and securities firm.
Gupta was arrested by FBI towards the end of 2011 for disclosing the earnings of his company to Rajratnam, the founder of Galleon group. Gupta passed on the information when his company faced serious financial crisis and the Galleon Group is said to have benefited a lot from the information provided. During Rajaratnam’s trial, his conversations with Gupta, were played on tape which gained wide spread attention and disrepute. He has been charged of security frauds and conspiracy and the trial date of his case has been extended to May 21.
