BANGALORE: Once again Bharat Desai, Chairman & C0-Founder, Syntel Limited, has been ranked as the richest Indian American in the prestigious Forbes World Billionaires list. He is followed by Romesh Wadhwani, John Kapoor, Vinod Khosla & Aneel Bhusri according to the Forbes list.

Bharat stands at an enviable No 3 position in the Forbes World Billionaires list among Indian IT czars next only to Azim Premji, and Shiv Nadar. He is trailed by Narayana Murthy, S Gopalakrishnan and Nandan Nilekani.

Even on the overall scores, Bharat does well, ranked as he is at the 731 position by Forbes out of 1,565 names populating this list of World   Billionaires.

Bharat Desai launched Syntel (Nasdaq:SYNT) in the year 1980. Syntel is a leading global provider of integrated information technology and Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) solutions spanning the entire lifecycle of business and information systems and processes.

India will continue to be the premiere destination for Syntel Inc for their integrated IT & and business process services.

Recently Syntel Founders Bharat Desai (a 1975-batch IITB alumnus) and Neerja Sethi have been instrumental in establishing the “Desai Sethi Centre for Entrepreneurship” at Bharat’s alma mater IIT Bombay. The centre envisioned by the couple will encourage entrepreneurship and technology innovation through new programmes for education and research, multi-disciplinary courses, research laboratories and partnership.
