Bangalore: Deepa Goraya, a third year law student has campaigned to raise an amount of $10,000 to support Obama on behalf of the disability community. She feels that it would be highly helpful for the disability community, once Obama gets re-elected as the President of America.

Goraya decided to campaign for Obama, after she interned at the White house and says she would like to do public service once she completes her studies .She wants to prove before Obama and the world that the community of disabled has their own voice which should be recognized; that their potential is not just limited to voting, but can also come up with significant contributions.

She is helping Obama as a gratitude to the steps he has undertaken to support the disabled and she feels that once Obama gets re-elected he can do many more things to them as well as the whole nation.

Moreover, Goraya points out that initiative should be taken to promote employment opportunities for the disabled, as nearly 70 percent of them remain unemployed. She might get an invitation to Washington, D.C and meet Obama personally following the fundraising progaramme.

The disabled community has planned to raise an overall amount of $100,000, out of which Goraya raised 10 percent of the amount.
