Bangalore: A new survey report conducted by Lake Research Partners, a DC-based political consultancy firm reveals that 85 percent Indian-Americans are in favour of Barack Obama and his democratic party and that they do not support Mitt Romney and his republican.

Many Asian-American communities were surveyed and it was observed that out of them majority of the people who are pro-Democrats and anti-Republicans were Indian-Americans.

An Indian-American candidate who is contesting for US House of Representative from a district in Texas said that the survey report did not surprise him.

“Most Indian-Americans would identify themselves as Democrats, though a few, who have made a lot of money, might become Republicans,” he said, reports Yashwant Raj of Hindustan Times.

Most of the Indian-Americans (around 66 percent) also said that as the President of America, Obama has done an outstanding job and the democrats were better than Republicans in almost all the fields ranging from health care, creating jobs, foreign policy, national security and taxes to immigration.

Apart from their support for Obama, Indian-Americans have also given financial contribution to Obama campaign, raising an amount of $500,000.Whereas only few Indians are backing Romney and raising money for his campaign.
