Bangalore: Indian American students from various universities in U.S. will receive the Goldwater scholarships for the year 2012, which will help them pursue their careers in fields such as math, science and engineering. The scholarship was established in the year 1986 by the United States Congress.

The graduate students who have been selected for the scholarship are-

1. Amiya Ali Ahmed is from the University of Alabama at Birmingham who aspires to do research on NIH-funded biomedical science and moreover she also plans to teach at a research university.

2. Jaideep Sunil Dudani, a bioengineering student of the University of California in Los Angeles plans to conduct research and development of technology and systems and also intends to become a faculty member at the university level.

3. Saikripa Mangala Radhakrishnan is from the university of Colorado-Boulder who specializes in neurology/tissue engineering. She looks forward to advance tissue engineering research and take up teaching career as well.

4. Srinidhi Jayalakshmi Radhakrishnan, a tissue engineering graduate from University of Colorado-Boulder wants to do research in tissue regeneration and apply it clinically. Apart from that she also aims to teach at a university hospital.

5. Ramya Ramakrishnan is a computer-science student from the University of Colorado-Boulder’s who would like to carry out research in the field of human-computer interaction.

6. Zainab Murtaza of Johns Hopkins University plans to work on research and development at a pharmaceutical or Biotechnology Company.

7. Neel Piyush Shah is a computer engineering student from the Northeastern University who intends to conduct research in computing.

8. Paras Singh Minhas from the University of Pittsburgh is interested in conducting research as well as teaching biomedical sciences at the university level.

9. Nityan Labros Nair is from Massachusetts Institute of Technology whose area of research is fundamental physical phenomena.

10. Saptarshi Chaudhuri, physics student from the California Institute of Technology hopes to research on applications related to superconducting devices.

11. Prashant Vaidnath Rajan is from Miami University-Oxford who likes to research on targeted drug design and apply it to clinical practice for curing human diseases.

12. Aman Sinha, aerospace engineering graduate from Princeton University intends to take up research fluid mechanics for the development of efficient vehicles with the application of computational modeling techniques.

13. Abhishek Raj is from the University of Texas at Dallas and he likes to do research in biomedical engineering.
