6. Vikram Pandit Quits as Citigroup Chief

Vikram Pandit, the CEO of Citigroup stepped down from his post in October, putting an end to the five year long career at the international bank. The move came as a surprise to the corporate world and there have been a lot of rumors regarding differences with the board members about the company’s performance and his controversial paycheck.

According to media reports, Pandit was forced to leave the company.

Pandit began his career as an associate in Morgan Stanley, being the first Indian to join the company and with time he got promoted to other major posts.

Pandit was honoured with the prestigious Padma Bhushan by the Indian government in the year 2008. He received B.S and M.S degree in Electrical engineering from the University of Columbia and later on he completed M.B.A and Ph.D. from Columbia Business School.
