Xiaomi Mi3: Flipkart Crashes After The Smartphone Goes On Sale In India

BANGALORE: India’s e-commerce giant Flipkart for the first time was crashed down on 22nd July as the country’s gadgets freak rushed to the website to purchase or book the recently launched Xiaomi Mi 3 smartphones, reports dna.

Few days back Xiaomi, China's front runner in Smartphone market, announced its entry into the highly competitive Indian market with the launch of its first smartphone that was exclusively available online from 22nd July through Flipkart at a price tag of 13,999.

The love for smartphones in this country is to such an extent that Mi 3 was sold out just within about half an hour of it going on sale on the website.

Flipkart spokesperson revealed, “We sold out within the first 30 minutes. However, we cannot comment on the number of units sold. We will be getting the phone back in stock next week,” reports Hindu Business Line.

“Based on the phenomenal response we saw during the registration phase, we had anticipated a traffic spike and had scaled up our web services accordingly. But the number of customers who logged in immediately after the phone went live on our site caused the process to slow down for a while. We are expanding our capacity to provide a smoother shopping experience the next time,” added the Spokesperson.

"Apologies for the issues our customers are facing. The Mi 3 launch is keeping our site very busy. Working on getting this fixed ASAP," Flipkart tweeted post the website crashed.
