SI Review: Meizu M1 Note


BENGALURU: China is gradually overtaking the Smartphone segment and several Chinese Smartphone companies provide better specification at much cheaper prices. However, other big Smartphone companies like Apple and Samsung, need to keep up their pace in order to retain their top market positions. One such Chinese Smartphone set out to give a tough competition is Meizu’s M1 Note. Let us look at some of the key features of M1 Note.

Design and Display

Meizu M1 Note resembles much like the Apple iPhone 5c, but on spec sheet it’s got something more than what the iPhone 5c had. . M1 Note come with polycarbonate body however, the back cover is non-removable. The power buttons as well as the headphone jack are located on top. The M1 Note houses big 5.5-inch IGZO display screen, which offers Full HD (1920x1080) resolution at an impressive 401-ppi.

Performance and Hardware

The phone comes with a 64-bit Octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz along with 2GB RAM. The phone also performs well while playing games as it sports Mali-T760 graphic processing unit (GPU). M1 Note come with 4G enabled network and will last entire day after average use as it features 3140mAh battery.

Camera

M1 Note can take good quality photographs with its 13-megapixels rear camera and 5-megapixels front-facing shooter. However, the quality of the photographs is good but not the best, which can be expected from 13-megapixels camera. Android 4.4.4 Kitkat comes bundled with M1 Note along with the company’s own Flyme OS.

Pricing and Conclusion

Initially, the phone was launched on e-commerce giant, Amazon India for 11,999, however, as per the current developments in the demand of the product, the price may vary. The company is relatively new in the Indian consumer market, thus looking purely on specification, it can be said that 2GB RAM Smartphone at 11,999 would be a good deal.
