LG Reveals New Collection of Splash-Proof Speakers


BENGALURU: Ahead of IFA next month, LG has introduced its new range of Bluetooth speakers. Dubbed the LG PH1, PH2, PH3, and the PH4, the four speakers will likely be showcased in upcoming IFA 2016 at the company’s booth in Berlin, Germany. The new line of speaker models run the range from the casual to audiophile grade to suit the different listening styles, says LG. These are splash-proof and come in different shapes.

"LG's new line of Bluetooth speakers combine powerful sound performance with compact, portable design," said Tim Alessi, Senior Director, Product Marketing for home entertainment at LG Electronics USA. "Understanding the busy lifestyles of many of today's consumers, we sought to create a diverse lineup of audio products that deliver a seamless listening experience in any situation or setting," he added.

The LG PH1 features built-in mood lighting and offers up to five hour battery backup. The speaker is light-weight and sports hands-free speakerphone capabilities, and can be used as night lamp. As for the LG PH2, weighing 167 grams, offers a 2.5 watt amplifier and is the smallest. Speaker is uniquely designed to carry around during activities like cycling and hiking. The company claims battery backup of six hours for the speaker.

Further, the PH3 speaker is featured with a 3-watt amplifier; is available in three hues and resembles to a candle. It comes with up to 10 hours of audio playback and boasts five different multi-colored lighting moods, and a passive radiator. Lastly, the tiny bottle-shaped with a 16-watt amplifier, LG PH4 is the loudest of the lot. This speaker has dual passive radiators, and is capable of delivering up to 10 hours of usage.

The PH2, PH3 and PH4 speakers offer 360-degree sound. They are expected to be available in the US this fall, but there’s no disclosure regarding their pricing and international availability as of now.
