HTC Launches The First 64-Bit Android Phone, The Desire 510

BANGALORE: HTC has announced its first Android phone, Desire 510, which is powered by a 64-bit chip. HTC plans to launch the product first in regions of Asia and Europe, in addition to the U.S., reports Indiatoday.

Peter Chou, CEO of HTC said, "owning the latest and greatest technology shouldn't be reserved for those with the highest budgets."  "People today should expect their smartphones to double as mobile entertainment hubs. This means ensuring that they're fully loaded with the latest movies, TV shows and albums, by taking advantage of the super-fast network speeds available. The HTC Desire 510 does this and more, making it the perfect mobile media device," he added.

The HTC Desire 510 comes with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and with a 4.7-inch FWVGA screen, 854x480 screen, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. It includes a MicroSD card slot, VGA front-facing camera, 5-megapixel camera on the back, and also has a 2,100mAh battery. The phone will be available in two colors, Terra White and Meridian Grey. 

It weighs 158 grams,  its rear panel is removable, and the battery can also be replaced by the user. Software-wise, it runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, overlaid with the HTC Sense 6 user interface. It offers custom features, like BlinkFeed, and it’s a single SIM solution supporting LTE.  However, there is no word on pricing.
