#1.Apple iPhone, iPad and the iPod touch: Apple has its own app for anti-theft called ‘Find my phone’ where  user gets to track the phone by logging onto the iCloud account from any browser, remotely send messages to the phone to lock it or to erase all the data on it. Setting up the app is pretty easy and it allows you to manage all the Apple devices you own through a single account. Other apps which provide similar functionality are Secureit or iLostfinder.

#2.Android Devices: Android has its own anti theft feature which can be accessed by logging into Google. It helps to track the phone, lock, and make it ring or erase the data on your phone. Free antivirus software like AVG, Avast or Kaspersky offer tracking of phones too, with features of locking and erasing all the data remotely.
