Xbox One, A Thorn In The Side For Microsoft

BANGALORE: The Xbox made a huge impact for Microsoft, and the company went on to improvise and come out with the Xbox One a newer version. This was released in November 2013, around the same time Sony PS4 was being launched. Microsoft had thought that they would hit the market the same way they did with the first version of the Xbox. Unfortunately this didn’t turned out the way they wanted it to be, since the annual reports show that they had incurred a $400 million loss.

The report by the Independent shows that Microsoft had spent a huge amount for the launch and advertisement of the Xbox One. The Company spent over $2.1 billion to manufacture and promote the gaming console, but did not reap the amount that was spent. They are far behind in sales when it comes to the comparison with their rival Sony PS4.

Microsoft sold 11.7 million units of the gaming consoles, which is just a little higher than the number of consoles sold in 2013. But the Microsoft still has a chance of a small percentage of growth as the winter holidays are around the corner.
