World's First Mother Board With 20 Gbps Speed: Courtesy Asus

The Thunderbolt 2 also comes with DisplayPort 1.2 support that enables simultaneous delivery of extremely high-resolution video to the latest 4K/2K (4096 x 2160 and 3840×2160) displays while still offering communication with other bandwidth-hungry devices such as hard drives. It can drive a total of three 4K UHD displays at once.

Thunderbolt 2 also supports daisy-chained connections with up to six devices on each port, reducing the need for separate hubs.

Asus has also included a gratis NFC Express dongle with the Motherboard for all your one-tap data transferring needs.

However the press release misses on two points- pricing and availability. Considering Thunderbolt 1-equipped motherboard cost $350, you may expect Thunderbolt 2 will not come cheap either.

The specs include: 2 x Intel Thunderbolt 2 ports; 1 x HDMI port; 4 x DIMM slots; 3 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 slots; 10 x SATA 6Gbit/s ports; 8 x USB 3.0 ports with USB 3.0 Boost; and 8 x USB 2.0 ports ATX form factor.
