Why Only A Few Indian Companies Into The Next Level Of Technology?

BANGALORE: India has been a land sourcing out many exceptional engineers in technology. We hear news of Indian engineers working for big companies, developing some of the most astounding apps and software that are being used around the world. All these achievements are to be hailed but the real question is why is not India venturing into the next level of Technology?

The IT world is buzzing around the latest topic of Cloud and faster information detailing from massive storage of data. The dire need for information security and cyber security in companies that deal with sensitive data is the need of hour and where are companies with software or technologies to counter these threats? This is where the Indian companies can make it big. The potential in the Indian IT world is not being realized; instead engineers are satisfied working for outside firms that pay them well.

There are a few start ups that have taken a leap of faith and started companies that focus on cloud and information security. One such company is Lucidous Tech, founded by Saket Modi, a 23 year old entrepreneur. This company specializes in cyber security and works with companies like IBM, KPMG and Microsoft.

"The barrier to entry is very high. Even if you're a world-class hacker, organizations will not trust a startup," said CEO Modi, who built credibility by giving seminars on ethical hacking and cyber forensics across India, reports Times of India.

With everything going through the internet and many companies adapting to the cloud technology, industries that venture into security manufacturing software will see a rising business in the near future. Companies will be looking to get the best of security to protect their information and data which is vulnerable to hackers.

This factor is slowly being exploited by many Indian startups that are the secret of the Industry. Though there is a rise in the number of IT cyber security startup companies, the number is not satisfying when compared to the exceptional Indian IT force.

In regards to Indians doing mundane IT jobs, "We aren't using our India team for mundane development tasks, like maintenance and bug fixes—a big mistake of many larger companies in tech. Quite the opposite," said Kumar Mehta, CEO of Silicon-Valley based Versa Networks, reports TOI.

So experts and startup CEOs are hoping that more and more Indians start investing into cloud technology which is largely available for many players, instead of working in a mundane job profile. Cloud storage is also another area that has much potential and Indian has the expertise and man power to make it big in these areas.
