U.S. Whistleblower Snowden Seeks Asylum In India: WikiLeaks

Bangalore: The whistleblower Edward Snowden, who leaked what U.S. security agency NSA was up to, has sought asylum in India, including 19 other countries, according to WikiLeaks.

Edward leaked out information about NSA’s spying over European Union, India, China and other prominent nations in the world under an intelligence operation code named as PRISM.

As U.S. authorities announce the start of an investigation, Snowden, in hiding in Hong Kong since May 20, reveals himself to be the source of the leak. And since then it was a cat and mouse game where the super power nation is trying to pull all the possible strings to get Snowden back and trial him in U.S. court for betraying the country.

It also made the big corporations in the world like Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, Google to come out laud on the extent of user information sought by NSA. The European Union, with which U.S. has amicable relations, too is flummoxed by this brazenness.
