Bangalore: When a firm goes public, one of the reasons it makes news is because of the money involved. There are a number of tech-related firms that have gone public, but only few have made an impression because of their size, how they affect technology, and what they’re valued at.

1. Facebook: The social networking behemoth became much-talked about when it filed to go public early in February. Although the deal was made for five billion dollars, it is valued at 100 billion dollars. Its going public was noteworthy especially since it would mean that Facebook would have to reveal all its monetary figures. According to the infographic, the world’s largest social network has 3,200 employees, but other details about it are unknown.
