Bangalore: Apple, the world’s most reputed company reached another milestone by hitting the $600 billion market capital for the first time ever since Microsoft did the same back in 1999.

The company now has about $100 billion in hand and has recently announced its plans on issuing dividends and initiating stocks buyback program where it will use a part of its colossal cash pile, to buy back its shares from the market.

Since Apple is the one leading the world after one of worst recessions, many say the reputed company could have done much more to the planet with its money.

Being the most reputed company, it’s ironic that Apple is not well known for its charity and it's what Steve Jobs was often criticized for. He almost stopped all philanthropic efforts of the company and rarely donated anything himself, being a multi billionaire.

But Tim Cook, the new CEO is trying to change that perception. He had recently revealed about a donation of $100 million to two organizations and announced a new employee matching donation program. But Apple can do much more than that, like helping the poor countries for getting better internet access and giving away tablets and Smartphones to educate the children in those countries.
