Teens Leaving Facebook To Embrace Whatsapp

Children are growing more aware on the credibility of social media platforms. According to the financial firm Piper Jaffray, Facebook witnessed a decline in the number of young users from 44 percent to 23 percent in 2013. The social media platform was a trustful source for advertisers to promote their products from verticals including fashion, technology and lifestyle. “The youth consumer spending market makes up more than $200 billion in the United States alone and is of significant interest to investors and companies everywhere”; reports Guardian.

The competition with other social media rivals has also put Facebook under pressure with investors growing discomfort. The social media giant had made modifications last week allowing young teens to publically share contents on the platform. This step from the social networking giant can be seen as a strategic approach to tackle the declining appeal of Facebook.
