Snowden Gets Job Offer At VKontakte, Russia's Facebook
Bangalore: NSA whistleblower and most wanted fugitive by U.S., Edward Snowden, got a Job offer from Russia’s top social-networking site VKontakte, within few hours after the country offered him temporary asylum.
"We invite Edward to St. Petersburg and will be thrilled if he decides to join our stellar team of programmers at VKontakte," the company’s founder Pavel Durov said in a VKontakte post. "At the end of the day, there is no European Internet company more popular than VK. I think Edward might be interested in protecting the personal data of our millions of users."
Snowden was stuck in Moscow airport for about 40 days, because U.S. revoked his Passport. He finally was allowed to enter the city on Thursday after the Russian government offered him temporary asylum for a year and the papers also allowed him to work in the country.
