Bangalore: Though tech firms have recently been doing commendable innovation, they have often strayed off-track and executed business plans that have bent the head of the tech world in shame. Ridiculous patents, divisive market schemes and awful products have all victimized their customers or the tech world as a whole for that matter.

Companies like Google, Microsoft and Apple keep coming under the radar of media because of their high profile blunders and tomfoolery, but every now and then there is something atrocious happening in the world of technology that rather goes unnoticed or is suppressed.

Here are some shameful moments in the tech history that show the darker side of the leading tech firms in the world.

1. Dell’s explosive release

It is hard to believe that a company with a firm hold on its customer service satisfaction had released a SL320i Laptop in 1993 that had an explosive battery. Dell started offering replacement for the shipped pieces after denying its fault for a long time. Ironically the product’s tagline said ‘Explosive New Release’.
