Phablets Soon To Kick Out Tablets From The Market

Bangalore: The desktop PC’s, which once stood as the pride of computer world has now become a fossil. Better portability, usability and advanced features have driven people to switch computers with laptops, then with tablets and now to phablets.

Bob O’ Donnell, Vice President of IDC said “Over the next 12-18 months, larger Smartphones will start encroaching on the tablet market share, contributing to a slower market growth for tablets”. He also added that the total PC shipment is expected to fall below the tablet shipment by the fourth quarter of 2013.

The trend of Phablets was introduced by Samsung with their large screen display tablets with calling facility, which was later copied by other competitors. The Indian maker Micromax also turned out to become successful grabbing the second position in the Indian market with their intelligent marketing and smart pricing strategy.
