Nokia Drops Android Ambition, To Work On New Technologies

Bangalore: In contrary to the report that Nokia will come up with its new android phone, the new news is that it has dropped the plan. The very concept of amalgamation of Nokia's famed build quality and camera technology with popular Android operating system has triggered the technological industry as well as consumers.

The new Android Nokia Smartphone codenamed as Nomandy was anticipated to hit the market by next year, but it will never take off according to the report by Unwired View, a Chinese publication, which sparked the possibility of a Nokia’s Android mobile. The report earlier stated that the Finnish handset maker was working on an unnamed 7-inch tablet, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor. It  further added that the Android development program would be handled by Peter Skillman,  the head of Nokia's mobile phones user experience division and the HERE design team.

However the exact reason for this sudden drop out   remains a mystery. The rumor mills are a buzz that the recent Microsoft's acquisition of Nokia's mobile unit made the Nokia to drop its plan.

After Nokia being acquired by Microsoft they cannot launch any phones under its own branding, thus it won’t be able to make a mark in the market, say insiders. A Chinese publication added that after Nokia abandoned its plans to work on android phones and tablets it is now focused  on other burgeoning technologies in the field of wearable devices including smart glasses, flexible displays, wireless power transmission and electromagnetic energy generation. The company has apparently designed eye control technology for its smart glasses and is expected to be on sale by 2015. The details on the progress of other uprising technologies are yet to be disclosed.
