Microsoft to Offer Free Windows 9 To Vista, XP Users?


BANGALORE: Still using Windows XP or the Vista? There is something to cheer about rumors on the internet suggests that Microsoft may give the next generation Windows 9 for free in the form of an update, reports Times Of India.

Apparently, according to a blog of Mary Jo Foley, Microsoft may offer some deal to lure people using the XP, Vista and Windows 7 OS into switching to a newer version. As majority of the users are still stuck with XP, this give away would turn some heads around Windows than its competitors.

However, based on the sources of Foley the present Windows 8.1 will receive a 2nd update sometime this August. It is said to be a minor one which will include small design changes in it and would not be compulsory to update. Microsoft’s full focus is on the Windows 9 which is expected to come out with complete new features like a new start menu.
