Microsoft Store Hits 50,000 Apps, Yet No One Is Impressed!

Bangalore: Microsoft’s overhyped app store has witnessed an alarming boost in its recent times, as the number of daily apps submitted to the store hit an average of 468 new apps per day from a mere 142 apps last month, reports Firstpost.

This amazing turnaround also led to an important milestone for Microsoft app store- a total of 50,000 apps.

“App development for Windows 8 hit its peak in November, with an average of 468 new apps being developed daily. The number dropped down to 412 apps developed daily in December, plummeted to 174 apps in January, and fell even further to 142 apps in February”, reported Slashgear.

According to tech sites, the dramatic increase attributes to Microsoft’s recently announced “Keep the Cash” offer where developers are offered $100 for every qualifying app to the store. The promotion is scheduled to end on 30th June, 2013.
