Maneesh Dhir, Sanjay Kaul: Brains Behind Apple India's Success


Bangalore: Owning Apple's iPhone in India a year ago was a big task for phone lovers due to less marketing by the company, but the scarcity of the phone has ended as soon as Maneesh Dhir, country head of Apple India, and Sanjay Kaul who heads the iPhone business in the country took over their positions and literally changed the way iPhone is sold in India.   

Their marketing strategies and focus increased the revenue from 620 crore to 2003.9 crore which is a 223 percent rise in the fiscal year of 2012, as per the latest filings with the Registrar of Companies shows Apple India’s revenue has surged from 620 crore to 2003.9 crore which is a 223 percent rise in the fiscal year of 2012.

As written by Writankar Mukherjee in ET, under Steve Jobs, initially India has not been the target for Apple. But gradually the company suddenly became aggressive and more focused with their marketing and advertising, launching various EMI schemes for their products to make it more affordable, including small local retailers to expand their sales network.

All these key factors have helped Apple India to become country's second largest supplier of Smartphone’s. According to IDC data the company had revenue of 15.6 percent in the last quarter of 2012.
