Bangalore: Youngsters today are considered to be a lot more tech-savvy than their parents (mothers in particular). The general notion is that mothers can’t seem to figure their way around social networks, or that if they do, they need you to befriend them on said social platform.

So how knowledgeable about technology are the moms of GenY?

Well surprisingly, one study revealed that a lot of moms of today are underestimated in their grasp and usage of technology—teens, if you’re reading, your moms are a lot more canny about tech than you are!

The Baby Center (a pregnancy and parenting mobile and website) and Neilsen joined together in a research that studied 2,500 mothers and other online adults over the last two years to try and see how mothers related to technology and other media. The study surprisingly found that Mom was ‘at the forefront of technology adoption’ and has a ‘fast-evolving’ media behavior that better supports her journey through motherhood with respect to technology.
