There are many people around the world in various professions that have had humble beginnings but made it big in their careers and are the inspiration of many. In the same way here is a list of some of the biggest and most famous people in the technology world who started with menial jobs and humble professions before making it big in the industry. Marissa Mayer: The present CEO of Yahoo, one of the biggest search engine companies in the world, made her way to this position through hard work and a portfolio that started from being a teacher in computer science at Stanford University. After having a great success at being a teacher, which according to her mentor Roberts, said it came naturally, later found a life being one of the first employees at Google.

At Google, she was responsible for giving the much-loved search engine the look and feel it has today. She was behind the start of some of Google’s innovative tools like Gmail, Google Maps and Google Earth, to name a few, which are used even today and make Google a unique company. She took the reins of being CEO of Yahoo, in 2012 and has since raised the dying company slowly back to its former glory.
