Hollywood Celebrities Invading Technology

Bangalore: For star celebrities, acting runs in their DNA. Starting a business, investing in a company might just sound a little offbeat especially if it is technology.

But when Jessica Alba did not find the hygienic nappy to use it on her baby, she went on to establish a company which delivered the same. Implementing the latest technologies and some of her experience in baby care she pulled it off, very well. Joining the same bandwagon are some Hollywood stars who have strayed away from their line of career and are trying their hands at tech as put together by CNN Money.

Started her own venture Honest.com

Best known for her role in Fantastic Four, Jessica fell short of proving to be a fantastic Mother for her two kids. The unavailability of baby products she was shopping for in the market made her found Honest.com which reads ‘From Our Family To yours’. Playing her cards right in business, the company raised $27 million in funding from venture capital firms like General Catalyst Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

Honest.com is monthly subscription service which offers customizable bundles of eco-friendly, toxin-free baby essentials, from plant-based disposable diapers to shampoo and laundry detergent.
