Google's Eye For Technology

BANGALORE: Google’s perspective of looking at things around the world with innovative ideas has always bowled us over. It’s interesting ways of connecting technology by relating to the common gadgets or things people use has taken the company to the wow moment. Here are some of Google’s plans which will create quite a stir in the world of technology as compiled by the Times of India.

#Internet Balloons: As Google calls it the ‘Project loon’, it is a research and development project intended to provide internet access to rural and underdeveloped areas.

This project has high altitude balloons in the Stratosphere to create a lofty wireless network offering 3G speeds.  For using this service people need to have special antennas connected to their buildings. This measure was taken by Google to avoid the underground internet cables for the countries like Africa and Southeast Asia where they cannot afford to do so.

# Modular Smartphones: Called by Google as ‘Project Ara’, Google aims at providing the ultimate Smartphone experience by customizing each part on a phone. The phone’s platform will include a frame and some components of a Smartphone which the buyer gets to choose. The components could include a display, keyboard or any part on the phone which the user can replace with the newer ones or non- functioning ones giving more longevity for the phone. This project is scheduled to release in the first quarter of 2015.
