Google Cuts Birthday Cake And Blows Fourteen Candles

Bangalore: Google is celebrating its 14th birthday with pomp and glory, with specially designed animated doodle of chocolate cake and fourteen candles; offering the visitors a piece of cake to click on.

It seems just yesterday, that Google started toddling with its first few million search terms, though started in 1998 by Stanford classmates Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Today it’s grown in to a search giant, handling more than 3 billion queries a day.

So what does Google gets for its birthday?

Wall Street decided to reward Google by boosting its share price, which reached high in these two days. Also the company got a higher search market share this year than the previous year. Google’s too got goodies to offer.

The company wrote in its blog: “As Google turns 14 this month, we’re celebrating this creative spirit and officially launching Google for Entrepreneurs, the umbrella for our several dozen programs and partnerships around the world that support startups and entrepreneurs”.

“To celebrate both our birthday and the spirit of entrepreneurship that’s helped get us where we are today, we are hosting our first annual Google for Entrepreneurs Week, which will bring together more than 3,000 entrepreneurs and Googlers around the world.”

So, lets the celebrations begin!
