Google Chairman Left The Choice of Maps to Apple

Bangalore: While the big flaws in Apple’s iOS6 maps are making a wave, the chairman of the rival company, Google, Eric Schmidt opened his mouth for the first time to opine about Google’s stand in the situation.

"We think it would have been better if they had kept ours. But what do I know?" Schmidt told a small group of reporters in Tokyo. "What were we going to do, force them not to change their mind? It's their call."

Speaking more on the matter, Schmidt said, “We haven’t done anything yet with Google Maps,” Apple would have to approve it.” He declined to say if the Mountain View, California-based company submitted an application to Apple for sale through its App Store.

The new mapping app introduced by Apple was a complete disaster, inviting criticism from around the world. Things went to extent of “Apple map flaws” becoming an internet meme with users posting funny incidents related to the application flaws.
