Google Bans App Devs From Serving Ads On Glass

Bangalore: Evidently, Google stated to the developers that neither will the company serve ads to its Google Glass users, nor even sell user data for advertising purposes, reports Mashable.

The search giant had released its Google Mirror API recently, which allows third-party developers begin building applications for the smart glasses. Google announced that developers may not serve or include any advertisements in API client.

When questioned about how developers will be able to monetize their services on the platform, the company pointed out that developers cannot charge users for apps, Besides, it stressed earlier that it hardly had plans to place ads on Google Glass.

As per the sources, a Google spokesperson said the company prefers making only the hardware available. The shipping of Google Glass to developers and early adopters who won a contest last month has led the news of Google’s new API and advertising restrictions.
