Dorian Nakamoto Denies Of Ever Founding Bitcoin

BANGALORE: After the exclusive story on Newsweek came out in late March, about Nakamoto being  creator of the now famous Bitcoin, he found himself in the media spotlight. All the online debates questioned if Nakamoto was the inventor of the multibillion dollar system.

"I did not create, invent or otherwise work on Bitcoin. I unconditionally deny the Newsweek report," Nakamoto said in the lengthy statement, which was released by Ethan D. Kirschner, a Los Angeles lawyer.

Kirschner refused to comment on suing Newsweek and its reporter Leah McGrath Goodman, the senior writer who wrote the story. But Newsweek says it will back up the reporter ‘Strongly’ and also that ‘it did not receive any statement or any letter from Nakamato and his legal counsel, if they do, the necessary steps would be taken.’

Newsweek backed his story of Nakamoto, pointing to the fact that he had programming skills. To which he freely admits,  . "My background is in engineering. I also have the ability to program. My most recent job was as an electrical engineer troubleshooting air traffic control equipment for the FAA. I have no knowledge of nor have I ever worked on cryptography, peer to peer systems, or alternative currencies.,"

Newsweek also pointed at another aspect to back up its story, “there’s a noticeable gap of ten years on his resume during the time which the Bitcoin code was written and released,” it added.

However Nakamoto’s further statement cleared the air, , "I have not been able to find steady work as an engineer or programmer for ten years. I have worked as a laborer, polltaker, and substitute teacher. I discontinued my internet service in 2013 due to severe financial distress. I am trying to recover from prostate surgery in October 2012 and a stroke I suffered in October of 2013. My prospect for gainful employment has been harmed because of Newsweek's article."

He also added, “Newsweek's false report has been the source of a great deal of confusion and stress for myself, my 93-year old mother, my siblings, and their families. I offer my sincerest thanks to those people in the United States and around the world who have offered me their support. I have retained legal counsel. This will be our last public statement on this matter. I ask that you now respect our privacy.”

The whole episode is creating quite a stir with the people around the world ever since the alleged face of Bitcoin issued the statement denying his role in creating the cryptocurrency. Now the question arises whether Nakamoto sues Newsweeek for its false reports that had turned his world around for worse.
