Cyber Crimes In Kerala On Increase


BANGALORE: In a bid to challenge the increasing number of cyber related crimes, state government proposed to set up a Cyberdome at Technopark, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala told assembly.

Number of cyber crimes registered has reached to more than 500 last year from 73 in 2009, Chennithala said while replying to a calling attention to the necessity to frame strong investigation setup to commbat cyber crimes in the state and to enact legislation to impose severe punishment to such crimes.

The Cyberdome would accelerate police vigil to track down cyber threats and chase the perpetrators, he said.

Work for setting up the second cyber police station at Kochi had already started. Government plans to have another cyber police station at Kozhikode, he said.

The first cyber police station in the state was opened here on July, 2009.
