BANGALORE: Google is the largest search engine and is widely used by users around the globe. However, the age difference of users is a grand factor, as Gmail, Google+, Facebook, Twitter, and other such sites require users to be above 13 years of age.

With expanding technology and kids being exposed to the web of internet and its activities, it cannot be denied that children less than 13 years of age are also beginning to use the internet extensively.

In a step to lessen the fear factor related to the use of internet, Google is working to engage kids effectively and help them view videos and sites with information important for them to know and learn.

The search company is working to overhaul its online services so that children under the age of 13 can safely use its services and can enjoy it productively. When it was asked for comments on the report, the search giant declined citing that it does not comment on “rumor or speculation,” reports The Times of India.

Google is trying to help parents in the tough technological world, where keeping kids away from the internet can also turn out be harmful. So, the company is creating a safe environment that will include a dashboard, which parents can use to keep a check on their kids and track their online activity. It will also include a YouTube site solely for the kids with new rules that require them to sign up for Google accounts on Android devices to share their ages.
