Blackberry Rumored To Get Its Own Voice Assistant

BANGALORE: The rumoured BlackBerry ‘Windermere’ is all set to be launched, as the Blackberry ‘Passport’, and it will feature a Siri like voice assistant called the Blackberry Assistant. The feature will be available on Blackberry devices with the 10.3 update, reports Times of India.

The release date for BlackBerry Assistant is yet to be announced. Besides, the device will be launched in September at an event to be held in London. Speculation wise, not much information is known about the device, but the ‘Passport’ is likely to have a square shaped display and a physical QWERTY keyboard.

The Blackberry Assistant will be the latest voice assistant app in town, after Apple first introduced Siri with its iOS 6. The app will be friendly with Bluetooth headsets and a hands free option.

Apparently, you can either use voice commands or simply type on the home screen to make requests of the app to read out emails and even mark them as unread, from searching through your email to searching the web for any required information, and by managing your calendar.

You can also make settings as per your requirement to remind you of events and appointments and even send BBM messages to other person as per your commands and all this can be done hands free.
