Big Tech CEOs Who Took The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge


BANGALORE: The ALS ice bucket challenge has gone viral on the internet and is the most-talked about stunt today, with celebrities worldwide joining the act.

The ice bucket challenge is to raise funds for the deadly Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis disease,

which is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.

Ice bucket donations reached $70.2 million as of August 24, 2014. Let us look at some of the brave top tech executives who participated in the awareness campaign and took the ALS ice bucket challenge, as compiled by The Times of India.

Satya Nadella

Microsoft uploaded a video of CEO Satya Nadella taking part in the ice-bucket challenge, proposed by former NFL player Steve Gleason. In the video, the winning team of hackathon was seen dumping a bucket full of chilled water on the CEO.

In his speech, Nadella mentioned that Gleason who is suffering from ALS is the driving force in spreading the challenge and the awareness about the disease. Drenched in water he said, “Oh my god, that is cold," and nominated by saying, “Jeff Bezos and Larry Page, you're next.”
