Bangalore's Mindlogicx wins Rs 54 crore deal from Gujarat Technical University

NEW DELHI: Bangalore-based IT firm Mindlogicx today said it has bagged the multi-year exam management services (EMS) contract from Gujarat Technical University (GTU) worth about Rs 54 crore.

This is the company's second large deal in Gujarat after its end-to-end exam automation deal with Saurashtra University signed in September last year.

GTU has about 5.5 lakh students in 500 affiliated engineering, pharmacy and management colleges under its fold.

"As part of the deal, Mindlogicx will provide cloud technology that will enable e-assessment of answer sheets for all theory exams conducted by the University," Mindlogicx CEO Suresh Elangovan said in a statement.

This involves digitization and digital evaluation of hand written answer scripts, centralized monitoring and reporting of the examination processes, result processing and analyzing and printing of certificates and mark sheets, he added.

"Our plan is to hire over 200 software support and network engineers in Gujarat for this project," he said.

GTU's staff will be trained on the implementation of the e-assessment system in the country.

Overall, Mindlogicx will hire 1,000 people this year, including software programmers, technology and network support engineers and semi-skilled people. These will treble its headcount more to 1,500 people.

The company, which has a user base of 1 million students for its examination automation service, is targeting to double the count. It has tie ups with several universities also.
