Apps To Kill Valentine's Day 'Loneliness'

Bangalore: Are you single? Do you believe in love at first sight? If yes, then there are apps that can make this coming Valentine’s Day a perfect one for you.

These new dating apps will make users flip through photos of people in nearby locations and if they are interested, the app connects them for a conversation. If not, then these users remain anonymous.

The makers of Tinder app which is available for iPhone worldwide stated that the app has matched more than 10 million couples since it was launched in September. The app pulls in photos of people from Facebook where people indicate their interest. If both like each other, messages are sent between them and their conversations take place at a deeper level.

According to Sean Rad, the CEO of Los Angeles based company Tinder, most of the users of this app range from 18 to 30 year of age.

Another app similar to Tinder called Let’s Date was developed as early as last week in the United States. This app also includes a person’s interest on Facebook, thus giving a real life experience of a party or a bar full of eligible young people. This app resulted from a frustration with other dating apps.

According to Sean Suhl who is the founder, the app is meant to provide data of a person ending up with a ‘yes’ or ‘no’.

Both apps require a valid Facebook account with real members. Let’s Date allows members who have been at least for a year on Facebook with a minimum of fifty friends. These apps may connect you quickly but would take a while in finding the right person for you.

Both companies plan to release Android apps.
