Apple's Evolutions on the iPhone Software Since 2007


BANGALORE: Apple has come a long way from the launch of its iPhone way back in 2007.The iPhone has become a success mantra for the company as it is the top selling phone in most of the countries like the United States and Japan. There are seven generations of the iPhone models, accompanied by one of the six major releases of the iOS. With the release of the iOS 8 sometime this year, we take a quick look at the advancements the company has made on the iOS till date. # The First version of iOS- 2007: When Steve jobs first launched the iPhone, the software was called the OS X and was later named as the iOS. The OS X is the operating system for the Macs and the iOS is based on that. The first version of the iOS did not have an app store and had features like the multi touch gestures, HTML email, Safari web browser, threaded text messaging and YouTube. It did not support a lot of other features like the MMS, copy and paste, and apps.  It pretty much laid the foundation for the design on the consecutive versions of the iOS where Apple coated the features on top of it. The first update was on OS 2 in 2008 which had an app store added to it.
