Apple To Axe 32GB Storage Model For 128GB?

BANGALORE: With lot of speculation making the rounds in tech world, there is no doubt that Apple can be ignored. Although most of the times we hear about its events and product launches, this time it’s about Apple’s decision to kill 32GB Storage with Iphone 6. So will it do it? Read through to know more, reports Techradar.

According to repair service GeekBar, it was stated that the company showed a version of the iPhone 6 sporting 128GB of Toshiba-branded storage, compared to smaller capacity models featuring NAND flash storage manufactured by Toshiba, Hynix and SanDisk. The same rumour was also making the rounds in last year's launch of the iPhone 5S, but the company settled for a lunch with a max of 64GB.

Even though some of its services like the iTunes Match and other cloud-based providers have largely been eliminated the need for larger-capacity on iPhones has become a necessity. Hence, on these grounds the company is looking to bring in the 128GB version for big spenders seeking huge space.

So what happens to the 32GB version now? Earlier this year, there were rumors that Apple could eliminate the 16GB base model, and make the 32GB as the base version to make room for a 128GB edition. But judging from GeekBar's data, the 16GB model will possibly survive for at least another generation, but out here it looks like the 32GB capacity is facing the exit doors when Apple debuts the iPhone 6 in September.
