Amazon's 3D High-End Smartphone Coming Soon

Bangalore: Amazon is reportedly working on 2 Smartphones and an audio-only streaming device. The company plans to release the same in 2013. One of the handset is said to be in 3D screen which would use retina-tracking technology, reports Wall Street Journal.

The images on the 3D high-end model, would seem to float above the screen like a hologram, and would allow the user to see 3D images without glasses. Earlier, Amazon had launched Kindle for e-readers which used Google's Andriod, So, we can expect the Smartphones to have an Andriod OS.

As per reports, it has been more than a year since Amazon started working on its Smartphone. If the findings are true, the internet retail giant will have a collection of hardware products.

According to an interview with AllThingsD last year, CEO Jeff Bezos had explained on his plans to expand the hardware offerings, “We will certainly — not any time soon — but next year. We have some more things that we hope people will enjoy," he told the publication. "It’s premature for me to talk about them."

In the same line, HTC had launched EVO 3D, a 3D technology device, but had a mixed response in the market. So, Amazon needs to focus more on its marketing strategy to have an upper hand.
