Accenture Elevates Indian Executive To Global Management Team


BANGALORE: In yet another development that is expected to reiterate India's position on the global technology front, outsourcing services company ‘Accenture’ has elevated Bhaskar Ghosh as its group chief executive for technology delivery, and inducted him to its Global Management Committee, reports TNN.

Even though Indians have been making it to top positions in global tech companies, but none has been part of the global executive committees of Accenture or IBM in the recent times. By this move Ghosh became the only Indian to make it to the top decision making body at the firm.

Ghosh, who is based out of the country, is currently the senior managing director of technology delivery at the New York Stock Exchange-listed company. Prior to Accenture, Ghosh was VP of IT infrastructure management services at Infosys and he also held senior positions with Philips. Ghosh joined Accenture in 2003 to head the company's delivery in India.

In his new role, Ghosh has been assigned to carry forward the additional responsibility for managing Accenture's portfolio of software solutions. He will also continue to look after the overall responsibility for global delivery capacity in technology sector by bringing in delivery innovation and productivity through intelligent tooling and other automations. Ghosh’s new role will be effective from September 1, 2014, and he would directly report to Accenture's Chairman and CEO Pierre Nanterme.

Along with this Accenture also announced that Paul Daugherty, will be on the 21-member global management committee.

Chairman and CEO Pierre Nanterme said, "I am delighted to welcome Paul Daugherty and Bhaskar Ghosh, two of our most accomplished technology executives, to our Global Management Committee." He further added that, "I am confident that with their continued leadership, as well as their extensive knowledge of new and emerging technologies and our business, we will continue to drive innovation for our clients and enhance Accenture's leadership position in the marketplace."
