#7 Proprietary screws

The company uses unique type of screws, which require a special tool to unscrew them. One such screw that is used in MacBook and iPhone is called pentalobe screw. These screws are tiny, and without the proper tool, an attempt to unscrew them may cause damage to the device.

#6 Proprietary components

#5 RAM soldered onto the motherboard

The latest MacBook Pro notebooks have a RAM which has been soldered directly to the mother board. This means that the users are not allowed to upgrade Ram once the device leaves the factory.
