8 Things Done Right by Instagram

Bangalore: Instagram is seen as the triumph of design and psychology over technology. It just took 554 days 13 employees and one simple idea for Instagram to make it to the billion dollar club which was scooped by Facebook for acquisition.

Instagram which decided to not stay stuck with just the iPhone platform, but venture into android as well and its exponentially growing user community of more than 40 million caught on Mark Zuckerberg’s (Co founder of Facebook)  attention who finalized the humongous deal well within 48 hours.

Several things have gone right with this photo sharing service from its simple concept of filters to easy usage. So, below is a run down of how this Instant Telegram was found worth pocketing by Facebook as quoted by Read Write Web.

A Lively Start-up with humble beginning

Instagram does not boast of anything swanky or posh atleast for its office. The app which has more than 40 million users still boasts of just 13 employees who operated from Twitter's old digs on 164 South Park Street in the SOMA neighborhood of San Francisco.

It operated as a nimble start up which focused on increasing its user base rather than buying new office spaces or hiring employees. It stuck to its native idea of photo sharing which had the users asking for nothing more.

Mobile Explosion it was and Instagram hit it right!

Smartphone. From the beginning, Kevin Systrom, CEO of Instagram knew that mobile explosion is going to bring in the right audience and when iPhone 4 was released, it made the already famous Instagram user friendly with its high resolution picture clicking. First released on iPhone, Instagram waited until the Android market share reached 50% and then with its perfectly right timing released it into the market.
