8 Most Prominent Indian Faces In Google


Bangalore: Working at Google, the largest internet company in the world is a dream every techie nurture in their hearts. The search giant currently employs more than 53,000 people around the world, and Indians make up a good chunk of it.

In a recent survey carried by Nielsen, a global measurement and information provider, most of the engineering students in India wanted to end up in the IT industry and Google topped the list.

Last month, Sundar Pichai, an IITian from India, was appointed as chief of Google’s Android platform replacing Andy Rubin. And there are bunch of other Indians who holds prominent positions in the global tech giant’s senior leadership and management. Read on to know 8 of them, as compiled by Economic Times.

#8 Manik Gupta

Position: Senior Product Manager, Google Maps

Manik is senior Product Manager with Google. He is based in Mountain View, CA and works on Google Maps.

Prior to moving to Mountain View in May 2011, Manik was in Bangalore, working as a product manager on Google Map Maker, a product available in 180 countries worldwide including the United States. He was also responsible for launching several features on Google Maps and Local search in India.

Gupta has done his MBA from Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, India and done B.A.Sc. (Computer Engineering) from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
