5 Facebook Rivals in Hot Pursuit

Bangalore: For the first time since its initial public offering in May, Facebook disclosed its revenue which is $1.18 billion, up 32% from last year.

Though Facebook has shown increase in its revenue, it still has to prove more financially and also to the claimed 955 million users who believe that Facebook is losing its charm. Facebook has also disappointed its investors after the IPO. Adding to its woes are Facebook’s competitors which are increasingly drawing new users and increased participation.

According to the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) E-Business Report, released on July 17, Facebook has dropped significantly in customer satisfaction among e-businesses. It has dropped 8% to 61 on a 100-point scale, where Google+ scored a 78. This may have been possible because of a strong mobile solution and a lack of traditional advertising in Google+, in which Facebook is lagging behind. Facebook users are also dissatisfied with the new interface, including the new Timeline, the privacy issues and the default Facebook email.

Let’s take a look at the other social networks that are on their way to outperform Facebook:

1. LinkedIn

With its 150 million users, LinkedIn has always been known as the social network for professionals. Its clutter-free interface and focus on professional content keep users engaged and satisfied. Recently LinkedIn updated its user interface update in a major makeover, which the users liked very much.
