And another person attending Harvard College, in his sophomore year, wrote a notorious application that he called Facemash, which allowed students on the college's network to vote on the relative attractiveness of other students. It was shut down within days, and led to disciplinary action. Then he launched another website from his dormitory room, but this time he became a billionaire.
There are lots of such stories where an idea got transformed into billion dollar company, all thanks to the internet. The first person was Jeff Bezos, who now owns the world’s largest online retail, Amazon.com and the second person was Mark Zuckerberg, with his dormitory launched Facebook.com.

At one point Ding was the richest person in China but his net worth has dropped since then to a still respectable $2.8 billion. He made significant contributions to the development of computer networks in mainland China.
