11 Biggest Revelations From Google I/O

Bangalore: Google I/O 2013 opened up with a grand Billy Idol rock concert and a huge robotic arm that was picking up and crushing 55 gallon barrels. There were other little robots too, some were up in sleeves to get your orders to pick up jars, some were bartenders, then there were a life-size Rock-em Sock-em robots in a boxing ring, and remote control robots people could ride around on.

Google’s I/O conference keynote which lasted for about 3 hours surprised the attendees and the world by offering the opposite of what we expected (through rumors and speculations), reports TechTime.

Google did not announce any new hardware like rumored Nexus 5 phone, upgraded Nexus 7 tablet or new Chromebook nor did the company reveal a new version of Android. And the hot rumors about an “X Phone” from Motorola and an 11-inch tablet from Samsung did not materialize either. Instead, Google spent about half of its annual developer’s conference focusing on developers, and the tools they need to make better apps. The rest of the time Google spent announcing improvements from search to maps, everything is getting a new coat of paint, a new polished experience and a focus from every team within the company.
