#8 Cheetah

You might be thinking about the connection of a “cheetah” to a robot. Unfortunately, your fears are taking a real form. This robot can easily chase down even Usain Bolt, the fastest man on the earth. The four footed robot runs at 45.06 km/h, which as of August 2012 is a land speed record for legged robots. The development was funded by Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) of U.S. defense. This robot has an articulated back that flexes back and forth on each step, thereby increasing its stride and running speed, much like the animal does.
